A Glimpse of Me

My mom was cleaning things out last weekend and found this thing I made in high school. It totally made me laugh. It may look a bit lopsided or weird because it was really difficult to scan but at least it can be read. Some of it is still so accurate and other things have changed a bit. I always think it is fun to see things from years past. It's always fun to see how much one has or hasn't changed. Hope you all enjoy a little insight into who I am.Definitely still a jeans girl, it's pretty much all I wear except on Sundays of course. My taste in jewelry is a bit different though. I am more a silver or white gold fan these days. I do still love Target. Always have, always will. I love going to the theater too. Not as into the drawing and arts stuff as I once was but I love love love cloudy days. They make most people gloomy and down but cloudy days make me happy! The best results part of this all still apply. Haven't changed there. The biggest change in all this is that I certainly do NOT hate beef anymore. I didn't really remember until I saw this that I did go through a time where I didn't really like beef. Sooooo not the case anymore. I could always go for a big, juicy, rare ribeye steak. I love cows!!!

"Daddy Said I Can't Have Beer!"

The funniest thing happened. We went to Circle K to get drinks and Jay and the kids waited in the car while I went in. Zoey saw the word Coors on the wall outside and asked Jay what it was. He told her what the word was and that it is a kind of beer. Zoey said that she liked beer. Jay explained to her how we don't drink beer. Zoey told him she really wanted some beer. Jay went on to explain that Heavenly Father asks us to not drink beer, that it is not good for our bodies. When I got back to the car Zoey was in tears and I asked her why. "Daddy said I can't have beer!", she said with tears streaming down her face. I also tried to explain to her about how and why we don't drink beer but she wouldn't listen. She spent the next 10 minutes on the way to Aunt Jenn's house crying because we wouldn't let her have beer. Jay and I were dying. It was one of the funniest things ever.

Sooo Tired

Grandpa was pushing Zoey in the swing and she went to sleep. She was up way too early this morning and I guess it caught up with her. It makes me see and remember that she really is still so small. She may be 4 but she's still so young. A little blurry but I was trying to get a side view while she was still swinging. I wish I could fall asleep so easy.

Halloween In January

I was cleaning out the kids closet the other day and pulled out their Halloween costumes from last year. Noah was the first to spot them and wanted to play with them. Zoey joined in the fun later when she saw that Noah had one on. What's funny is who wore which costume. I have such the silliest kids sometimes. They had a lot of fun and the bonus was it kept them out of my hair while I got the job done.

Equally Represented

Zoey got mad at me because Noah had on his new nightshirt and she had different jammies on. I was a nice mommy at the moment and let her change so she could wear her matching shirt. Of course she had to have some pictures taken too. So here is Zoey in her new Star Wars Clone Wars nightshirt. I guess I need to be more aware of being equal in things.

Noah's New Nightshirt

Just had to share these pictures of Noah because I just love him and think he is so cute. He's wearing his new big Star Wars Clone Wars nightshirt and he is so excited. I love the simple things that make kids happy.

Happy Birthday Mom!

I had to take the chance to wish my mom a very happy 60th birthday. Stephanie chose not to mention her age but I do because I know it isn't a big deal. I know that my mom is proud of her age and she knows she has earned every minute of it (and every gray hair which is surprisingly not that many). You may be 60 mom but you sure don't look it to me. I hope my mom knows how great she is. I think 2 of my favorite things about her are that her kids are ALWAYS a priority, and she is a REALLY good grandma. My mom always looks after us kids even though we are grown. She has always been aware as possible of our needs and has always tried to help any of us out when needed. No matter her position in life, her children have always come first and she has always made sure to help out in whatever ways she can. My mom is a fabulous grandma too. She has been lucky enough to have had a pretty big part in many years of most of her grandkid's lives. She is so good about making time for them and making the effort to visit those that are farther away when she has the time and money. She spoils them. She lets them get away with things that we would have never gotten away with when we were young. She buys them treats. She lets them jump on the bed and play on the furniture. She lets them do all the fun things that many kids can't get away with in their own homes. She spoils them all rotten just like a grandma should! She often has great patience, even with my crazy kids. She just loves all her grandkids and anyone who knows her should know that and be able to see it in her. Her grandkids love her and she loves them. My mom is a great mom and a wonderful grandma. Thanks for all you have done for me and my family mom. We would be homeless without you right now! :) We love you!

HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY MOM! YOU HAVE EARNED EVERY YEAR!

A Wise Fortune

I got a fortune today that said the greatest thing. It said "With all the worries and stress of life, take time to be a kid again." It is more like a saying than a fortune but I really thought it was so cool. I definitely think it is something to live by. We all get caught up in the world and our lives. We all stay so busy and get wrapped up in the responsibilities of being adults. We could all use a break from our worries and responsibilites. EVERYONE should take the time now and then to be a kid again!

Happy Birthday Davey!!!

I meant to do this so much earlier in the day but I was laying on my bed most the day with a horrible headache. I finally started feeling better this evening and I couldn't let the day end without doing this. Today was my handsome nephew's 11th birthday. He is the 2nd oldest of the grandkids and I can't believe how big he is. I remember when they lived with us I would tote him around with me all the time. Davey is such an awesome boy. I have always been amazed at what a good boy he is. He has always been the sweetest most genuine kid I know. He is a good friend to his siblings and he has never seemed to be bothered when they have wanted to be around him. He is such a loving boy. His knowledge of the gospel blows my mind sometimes too. He is way smarter than me when it comes to church knowledge and I think it is so awesome. I just want him to know how much I love him. I think you are the coolest boy I know Davey. I am so excited that you live here in Tucson now and that I will get to see you so much more. I hope you had a very happy birthday. You are a great boy and I love you to pieces! Happy Birthday to the most awesome boy I know!!!

Ringing in 2009

We had a good time on New Year's Eve. Kym and Pam came over and we had cheese fondue for dinner. It was so yummy. We hung out for hours and played some cards. It was totally a laid back night but a lot of fun. We did chocolate fondue at like 11:00 that night. What better way to celebrate the new year than dipping delicious treats in chocolate. Then we all sat around and watched the last little bit of Dick Clark's show and counted down to the new year. I am happy and sad that 2008 is gone but I am so looking forward to this year. The girls had a fun time playing some cards together. I love hanging out and playing games. Jay at his usual spot of course. Ringing in the new year doing his favorite thing. Dad was in his usual spot doing his puzzle book like always. I am sure he enjoyed that all the females were being noisy in the kitchen by themselves.
Zoey was the smart one. She was nice and snug in her bed long before the ball dropped in NY. Smart girl!!! This is Noah at 12:35. He certainly partied hard like the rest of us. I couldn't believe he was still awake. It amazes me how late this boy can stay up.

Phoenix Coyotes Hockey Game

Last Saturday my sister and I went to a hockey game with a couple friends. I haven't been to one in years and I forgot how much fun they are. The game was a bit of a disappointment since the Coyotes lost to the L.A. Kings 4 to 0 (sorry to keep opening up that wound Pam). It still was a lot of fun to be there with my sister and Kym and Pam. Like any good hockey game we did get to see one good fight on the ice so it was well worth it. What would a hockey game be without at least one throw down?! It was a fun night out. The start of what led to be a totally pathetic game. I sure could use a camera with a better zoom. This is as close as I could get. Not bad though. The girls. Jenn, me, Kym (in the back), and Pam. What a blast I have with them. Me, Kym and Pam outside the stadium. Jenn, Kym, and Pam outside the stadium. I had a blast with you girls!!!
