2014 San Antonio Trip - VI - Final Random Things

Well, the week of vacation went way to fast, of course. That is just the way it goes when having fun. These last few pictures are just some random ones while on vacation. It really was one of the best family vacations we have had. We are grateful for my brother's family for letting us invade their home for a week. We are grateful for them taking care of meals and for covering the hotel while in Corpus Christi. They were more than generous and we are grateful for them. It made a trip possible that otherwise may not have been. We all had a great time in San Antonio and look forward to going back again.

We were obsessed with this grocery store so we made sure to make a trip to it. We discovered that it really is an awesome store and I even got some fun, new, colorful utensils for the kitchen. 

 We passed this library a lot and we thought the name of it just sounded so fancy.

 What better way to wrap up a trip to Texas than with some good ole BBQ? Adults only dinner at the original Rudy's BBQ joint. When you sit inside you are actually sitting in a gas station convenience store. The BBQ was delicious and their creamed corn was to die for. We will definitely be visiting the one up in Phoenix sometime. 

2014 San Antonio Trip - V

Since we weren't hot and tired enough we made one last stop at the San Antonio Temple. It was well worth it. The grounds and building are beautiful and the stained glass is amazing. It was a great way to wrap up the afternoon.

 The stained glass at the entrance was awesome. I just couldn't manage to get a picture that did it justice.

 After being in the heat for hours they certainly couldn't resist the draw of the fountain.

 The temple sits up on a hill and looks over the city. It's a beautiful location.

 I tell you, amazing stained glass.

2014 San Antonio Trip - IV

Since it is right near the Alamo we went over to the River Walk for just a bit. It's just kind of cool that the river runs right through town and they built shops and restaurants all along it. It is actually a pretty, nice place to walk, just much better when it's cooler. 

They do boat tours but it was more money than we wanted to spend.

 So pretty and green. I love it!

2014 San Antonio Trip - III

We went to The Alamo. I debated going because I had been once before and it certainly doesn't live up to the vision I had of it. It is a famous landmark though, we weren't doing anything else, and if nothing else, it was a photo op. Plus my kids can all say they have been there. I don't know what I was thinking because it was so hot and humid out. I appreciated everyone being good sports about it. It was a great family outing.
