Grandma's Traditional Egg Hunt

The kids so look forward to the egg hunt every Easter. My mom started doing it a few years ago and I always think it is so fun. Even though I don't get to find my own eggs it is so much fun to help the little ones and just watch the action. I think this is the first year that Davie and Kella have been here for it. I am so glad they live here now and get to do all the fun stuff with us. It was so awesome that Kylie and Alexis got to fly in for Easter weekend. They can remember the egg hunts and it was a highly anticipated event while they were here. There would have been serious disappointment for them if it didn't happen.
I would like to point out that I am the hero of the egg hunt. I actually had to go on a hunt of my own to find plastic eggs. It's not a good idea to wait until Saturday afternoon before Easter to go buy the eggs. I went to Walmart, Target, the Dollar Tree, and finally Michaels before I found ANY. I totally lucked out at Michaels because they had just in the last couple hours had someone return some. I was so happy I found plastic eggs and for cheap. I don't know what we would have done. So, just for the record, I SAVED THE DAY!!!
It was a great hunt. The kids each had their own color of eggs to hunt for. So everyone got assigned their color and then knew they had 16 eggs to find. Grandma hid some of them a little too well because they actually didn't get found until after church. Good job Grandma! The kids all had such a blast and it was so fun to be around and watch them and help out.

Sunday Morning Craft

We didn't get Easter baskets for the kids so we had to come up with something for them to collect eggs in. I came up with the idea for them to decorate paper lunch sacks. I pulled out a bunch of craft stuff. They had a blast decorating with markers, crayons, tons of stickers, and decorative hole punches. I am glad I thought of it because they really had a good time. It also kept them busy while Grandma finished hiding the Easter eggs. All the kids bags turned out really cute. Such a creative bunch!

More On the Mountain

Inside Zoey's head....."I don't know that this is such a good idea".....

One of my favorites. Those are some silly faces.

Muggle Quidditch

If you are a Harry Potter fan you HAVE to watch this. It is silly but also the most awesome thing ever! I can't believe this is actually a sport at some colleges. How great!

The Big Surprise

We are so excited to have Alexis and Kylie here. Alexis came in on Tuesday night and Kylie just got in tonight. Kylie and Alexis didn't know that the other one was going to be here. Grandma told Alexis that she had to pick up a package for work at the airport. She came back through the security point with Kylie and neither Kylie nor Alexis could believe it. They were both totally surprised and very excited to see each other. I am seriously surprised that all us family kept the secret from the two of them for like 3 weeks. It's so great to have them here and we are excited to spend time with them. Zoey and Noah are so happy to see their cousins and I am happy that all of them get to spend some time together. Kylie was really happy to see Noah and Zoey. They were equally as happy to see her. Kylie seemed a little bummed that Noah didn't really really recognize her but we assured her it would be OK. He just has to remember a little. He is still small. Tomorrow will be a better day anyway when everyone is rested.

My Babies

I love being a mom to Zoey and Noah. They are so much fun and bring so much happiness to my life. They really keep me motivated and they are just so much fun. I love to see them grow and do new things. I love to watch and listen to them play and pretend. They have such vivid imaginations and I love it. They make life fun with just the simplest of things. I love my little crazies!Zoey the superhero having a picnic lunch. She has her blankie cape on and her other blanket on the table like you would for a picnic. She's so silly.Noah smiling with great pride showing his picture. He draws faces so well. My little guy is getting big so fast.

Reading With Jenn

Since the last post had so many good comments about Aunt Jenn I thought I could do a tiny post about her. The kids really do love Aunt Jenn and she is usually so willing to indulge them in whatever it is they want to do. She is good to them and I am glad my kids get to be around her so often.Reading stories to the kids. They are actually sitting still for more than 2 seconds.Noah must be reading a funny story.

What Are You Afraid Of?

I can almost bet you aren't afraid of the same thing Noah is.
I am not kidding! Noah is afraid of the air mattress and the pump. Don't know where the fear came from but he really is terrified of it.
Look at that sad face. He was so not happy that Jenn got the bed out.
"Please put the mattress away!" That's his simple request. He pleads to just make it go away.Aunt Jenn did such a good job of calming Noah and helping him not be afraid. The night before Noah ran into mine and Jay's room, shut the door, and would not come out. By the time she was done this time he was helping her put the bed together. Thanks Aunt Jenn for helping Noah deal with his odd fear!
