Campout

Why sleep in your perfectly comfortable bed when there is a hard floor to sleep on? I guess because you are a kid and sleeping on the floor in your own room is just as much an adventure as anything. They got to sleep there in between their beds for the weekend and then it was back to beds come the week. What a party pooper I am.
Poor Noah. None of the boy costumes we have really fit. He does love his ninja costume but it was in the laundry. He was pretending he was a wizard. I am totally OK with my boy playing dress up and with girlie things, just as long as he gets plenty of boy time in too, which he certainly does.

Tooth Number 2

I actually took a picture of Zoey's second lost tooth a while back. It came out like a week or two after her first one. I don't know what happened to the picture so I took these just a week or so ago so I could snap one before the teeth came back in. I still can't believe she is big enough to be loosing teeth. The third one will be out before long. It's taking it's time compared to the other two though.
If you look at the close up you can see where her tooth is coming in where she lost the first one. (The bottom middle left looking at the picture.)

St. Patrick's Day

We don't really do anything for this holiday usually. Jay made a big deal to the kids that day about wearing green so they wouldn't get pinched. They spent a lot of the rest of the day asking constant questions about St. Patrick's day. Since I have been such a lame mom lately I decided to do something simple but fun for the kids. For dinner my sister and I just threw together some green food. We had green waffles, green eggs, and green milk. It really was so simple but Zoey and Noah were so excited about it. Now Zoey wants to know what color goes with every other holiday so we can eat colored food those days too. It was nothing much but I am glad it was something that made my kids happy.

Catch Up

Make sure to scroll down a little and catch the few quick post I have done. I figured I best get on the ball with catching up on anything I might have to blog about. We are just a few weeks away from adding number 3 to our family. I figured I should have things all caught up before the blog gets flooded with pictures of our new little one. We are all excited for the baby on the way. I can't wait to see Zoey and Noah with their new brother or sister. What an exciting time!

Learning Something New

Zoey giving her first try at sewing.
Grandma got a new sewing machine for Christmas and Zoey was the 2nd person to try it out. She sat down and Grandma coached her along with what to do. She had some scrap fabric and just went at it. Zoey got a hang of it pretty quick and had a great time doing it. Maybe by the time she is 6 she can start sewing herself some clothes. :)

My Cute Shadow

I don't know what it is with this dog lately but he has become quite attached to me. He is one dang cute dog though. He drives me absolutely crazy sometimes but I do love this mutt!

One of the Cutest Sleepers

I love him when he is awake but I just want to eat him up when he is asleep. Oh the peace and quiet that comes with this kid going to bed every night!
Just a fun game of Scrabble Jay and I played one day. We came up with some great words we thought.

Sonoran Desert Museum

Several weeks back we took the kids to the Desert Museum. We try and find outdoor stuff to do at this time of year because we are not ones who will brave the summer heat to do those things. I hadn't been in more than 10 years probably and Jay and the kids hadn't ever been. It was a nice day out and a great place to go. For anyone who doesn't know what it is, it is basically the desert version of a zoo. It's pretty much all outside and it is all animals and plants and things in the desert. I forgot how neat I thought it was and the kids seemed to really be into it too. We walked for 3 hours and I was amazed at my little troopers. They didn't complain at all until they got hungry near the end. Other than that they were totally good. If I remember correctly I think pregnant Mommy did more complaining at the end than anyone else did the whole time. I just couldn't help it though. My body hurt so bad by the end I just didn't know if I was going to make it to the car. We really had a great time though. We love that Jay always has a least one weekday off because it is always nice to go out and do things when there are less people out and about. It was a wonderful day and we love any chance we get to do things as a family.

Beautiful view. I hate the desert sometimes but I can appreciate the beauty of it. Love the clouds!
Taking a look at something over yonder.
Awesome Papa and our adorable kids.
Two cute turtles.
Had to throw in this one. This older woman was there with her husband and I about died laughing watching her trying to get into that turtle shell. It took some doing but she did it and wasn't going anywhere until her husband snapped a picture. Oh it was funny!

Zoey's First Lost Tooth

Zoey is so excited to announce that she has lost her very first tooth. We were just eating Sonic one night about a week and a half ago and it came right out. It was a very exciting moment for everyone. She put her tooth under her pillow that night and the awesome tooth fairy brought her one whole dollar bill. Lucky girl, I think it was just a quarter for me when I lost my teeth.
Stay tuned to see if loose tooth number 2 has come out!

Hot Schmoes

We recently had smores for dessert one night. Zoey had been asking for weeks to have them so I finally bought the stuff. We just put them together and pop them in the oven. The kids love them and the mess makes them that much more exciting. They were just as tasty as they would be if we were eating them by a campfire. Yum! We love smores!
Watching the marshmallows puff up.
An ooey, gooey delicious mess!

Story Time with Daddy

I just love capturing moments with Jay and the kids. There isn't much that I find sweeter and more wonderful than seeing my husband and kids spending and enjoying time together. Noah is really taking to his Daddy these days and I love it.

Our Little Rock Star

She doesn't really play but she loves to pretend. We aren't sure if she would really be able to play but when she strums along with the songs she is always on beat and right on with when it should be done. I don't know if she could hit the buttons at the same time but we will let her try it out one day. She has fun just pretending though and we love that!

New Years

Ringing in the New Year this time around was one of the best ever. My brother and his family came over and we all had a blast. We had a cousin of mine and her boys here too and all the kids had such a great fun time playing together all night. There were 6 little kids ranging in age from 3 to 7 or 8 I think and I don't think any major trauma ever occurred. They were all happy and had such a blast playing. Then, of course, with the kids all occupied the adults had a fabulous time as well. We just hung out and ate and topped the night of with karaoke and then toasting with some bubbly cider when the clock stuck 12. Dinner was so yummy as always. We have made it tradition just recently to have cheese and chocolate fondue on New Years Eve. We dip all sorts of deliciousness in it and pig out. Karaoke was one of the funnest/funniest things ever. There were some seriously funny moments and Zoey couldn't get over how funny she thought it was that Uncle Donnie sang the Shania Twain song "Man, I Feel Like a Woman". It really was a laugh. We just had a fantastic time and I don't think there could have been a better way to lead up to and start 2010. I look forward to so many exciting and new adventures this year. We have a baby on the way in April and Zoey starts school this year. Those are 2 pretty exciting things and I am sure there are many other things headed our way too. We look forward to it all, the good and the bad. Bring it on 2010!

Present Time

After all the fun Santa stuff we all got to opening the rest of the gifts. We always sit and watch the kids open first and then let them get to playing while we open ours. Everyone got some neat stuff and I think it turned out to be a really great Christmas. Once again as I sat down here to blog I realized that I really lack pictures from this holiday season. I don't know what the deal is with that but I really didn't take many at all. I did snap a few though so I guess that's good. I am just a bit shocked with myself and the lack of photos to share. I guess sometimes it is a toss up to me whether or not I want to spend the whole time taking pictures or if I want to just sit and enjoy all the goings on of the moment. I suppose I chose the latter this year. It was a good Christmas though and I really did enjoy the happiness the season brought. Zoey and Noah were elated with everything they got and did and all the time they spent with family, especially cousins. Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year and I am grateful to live near family and get to spend it with them.
Look at all those presents. Lucky kids!
Zoey's very own apron to wear when she helps cook and bake. Thanks Grandma Kinney!
While everyone else was opening presents Noah was busy at work using his new tools on his new bike. Too cute.
How big Noah looks on his bike. He loves his bike.
Zoey has wanted a bike for a long time now. She was super excited to get hers and she is a pro at riding.
I am so glad they are so good and have no issues wearing their helmets EVERY time they ride. They have never worn them before but they are great about it and actually look forward to getting their helmets on to ride their bikes. I love my kids!
