Surprise Baby Shower

I have been meaning to blog about this all week but my laziness has put it off until now. On Monday afternoon my husband's wonderful coworkers out at the La Paloma Urgent Care threw him a baby shower. I had been called about a week and a half earlier to be let on to the secret and to invite me and the kids. It was such a hard secret for me to keep because I thought it was so cool they were doing it for him and I was so excited. I did manage to keep my mouth shut though. I did have a little bit of fun messing with Jay's head. I told him his boss had called and that I had a secret. The poor guy just couldn't figure out what was going on. I think I about drove my poor hubby crazy.

I took Jay to work that day which is out of the norm but he still had no clue. That afternoon I showed up at his work with the kids and he questioned our being there. Sometimes we go out to see him but not too much because it is a little ways away and I hate to use up gas. I told him we were out and just wanted to stop by and say hi. Eventually one of the nurses came out and asked if she could take the kids back to get them a treat. I followed along and then she told Jay that he should just come along too. I wish I had a picture of the quizzical look on his face. We walked toward the back and he noticed the break room door was closed and was pretty sure something was up. The nurse opened the door and the few people inside yelled "Surprise!". We both ended up being quite surprised because of how much they did for us. The room was all decorated and there was lots of yummy homemade food and there were many gifts. It really was such a great little party and I am glad my hubby could enjoy such a nice surprise.

I just can't say enough how awesome I think my hubby's coworkers are. I would have never thought they would have gone all out like this for us. Just the fact that they did something for us at all was so awesome and thoughtful. It says a lot to me of what they think of Jay and how much they like him and enjoy working with him. I know I wouldn't throw a shower for my coworker unless I really liked them. It really was such a nice thing to do and we are so incredibly grateful for it. We had a great time eating and chatting and opening gifts. I think we hung out in the break room for about 2 hours which means the other person working the desk was covering things on her own so Jay could just enjoy the party. It was a good time and I am so thankful to everyone who contributed to the food and the gifts. It was all amazing and I could have never even expected any of it. It sounds so cheesy but it really did give me that warm fuzzy feeling. It was definitely a day to remember. What a blessing this little party was to us.
Nurse Dee, Jay, Christena, and Doctor Colvin
The gift table. There's a diaper cake on the right and the little stack of stuff on the left with the Easter grass is a baby hoagie. Hadn't heard of it before but it was all stacked up like a hoagie with the grass as lettuce and the baby socks on top for toppings. Totally cute!
The most unbelievable thing we got. They pitched in and bought us a brand new stroller/car seat combo. Seriously?! We were so shocked and I will admit that my prego self got a little teary eyed. It was just too much. Such a nice, amazing thing to do for us.
The nurse Dee made these cute bunny sandwiches for the kids. It was just PB&J but the kids LOVED them. Another cute, thoughtful idea.
Opening the gifts for big brother Noah and big sister Zoey. I thought it was sweet that there were a couple gifts for them too. Zoey said later that it was too bad that they didn't get any presents for me and Jay. I did my best to explain that the party and the baby stuff and what they did for Zoey and Noah was a present to us.
Noah got this awesome airplane that comes with a power screwdriver. The whole thing comes apart and goes back together. So cute and so much fun. It is a popular toy in our house.
These next few are pictures of all our loot. We came out with great, cute stuff. I still can't believe that all this came from basically a handful of people.
I love the little feetie jammies in the above picture on the right. My favorite thing we got besides the car seat of course.
Here's my ginormous self at 36 weeks and 3 days.
Zoey and Noah wanted a picture with Mommy and all our goodies.
Zoey and Noah posing with their new things. Noah got that cute, big puzzle and the airplane. Zoey got a cute dress up bear/puzzle thing and a princess book that she gets to paint.

Awwww

There aren't many things that melt my heart more than sweet pictures of my hubby and my kids. This one is certainly one of my top favorites of all time.

Campout

Why sleep in your perfectly comfortable bed when there is a hard floor to sleep on? I guess because you are a kid and sleeping on the floor in your own room is just as much an adventure as anything. They got to sleep there in between their beds for the weekend and then it was back to beds come the week. What a party pooper I am.
Poor Noah. None of the boy costumes we have really fit. He does love his ninja costume but it was in the laundry. He was pretending he was a wizard. I am totally OK with my boy playing dress up and with girlie things, just as long as he gets plenty of boy time in too, which he certainly does.

Tooth Number 2

I actually took a picture of Zoey's second lost tooth a while back. It came out like a week or two after her first one. I don't know what happened to the picture so I took these just a week or so ago so I could snap one before the teeth came back in. I still can't believe she is big enough to be loosing teeth. The third one will be out before long. It's taking it's time compared to the other two though.
If you look at the close up you can see where her tooth is coming in where she lost the first one. (The bottom middle left looking at the picture.)

St. Patrick's Day

We don't really do anything for this holiday usually. Jay made a big deal to the kids that day about wearing green so they wouldn't get pinched. They spent a lot of the rest of the day asking constant questions about St. Patrick's day. Since I have been such a lame mom lately I decided to do something simple but fun for the kids. For dinner my sister and I just threw together some green food. We had green waffles, green eggs, and green milk. It really was so simple but Zoey and Noah were so excited about it. Now Zoey wants to know what color goes with every other holiday so we can eat colored food those days too. It was nothing much but I am glad it was something that made my kids happy.

Catch Up

Make sure to scroll down a little and catch the few quick post I have done. I figured I best get on the ball with catching up on anything I might have to blog about. We are just a few weeks away from adding number 3 to our family. I figured I should have things all caught up before the blog gets flooded with pictures of our new little one. We are all excited for the baby on the way. I can't wait to see Zoey and Noah with their new brother or sister. What an exciting time!

Learning Something New

Zoey giving her first try at sewing.
Grandma got a new sewing machine for Christmas and Zoey was the 2nd person to try it out. She sat down and Grandma coached her along with what to do. She had some scrap fabric and just went at it. Zoey got a hang of it pretty quick and had a great time doing it. Maybe by the time she is 6 she can start sewing herself some clothes. :)

My Cute Shadow

I don't know what it is with this dog lately but he has become quite attached to me. He is one dang cute dog though. He drives me absolutely crazy sometimes but I do love this mutt!

One of the Cutest Sleepers

I love him when he is awake but I just want to eat him up when he is asleep. Oh the peace and quiet that comes with this kid going to bed every night!
Just a fun game of Scrabble Jay and I played one day. We came up with some great words we thought.

Sonoran Desert Museum

Several weeks back we took the kids to the Desert Museum. We try and find outdoor stuff to do at this time of year because we are not ones who will brave the summer heat to do those things. I hadn't been in more than 10 years probably and Jay and the kids hadn't ever been. It was a nice day out and a great place to go. For anyone who doesn't know what it is, it is basically the desert version of a zoo. It's pretty much all outside and it is all animals and plants and things in the desert. I forgot how neat I thought it was and the kids seemed to really be into it too. We walked for 3 hours and I was amazed at my little troopers. They didn't complain at all until they got hungry near the end. Other than that they were totally good. If I remember correctly I think pregnant Mommy did more complaining at the end than anyone else did the whole time. I just couldn't help it though. My body hurt so bad by the end I just didn't know if I was going to make it to the car. We really had a great time though. We love that Jay always has a least one weekday off because it is always nice to go out and do things when there are less people out and about. It was a wonderful day and we love any chance we get to do things as a family.

Beautiful view. I hate the desert sometimes but I can appreciate the beauty of it. Love the clouds!
Taking a look at something over yonder.
Awesome Papa and our adorable kids.
Two cute turtles.
Had to throw in this one. This older woman was there with her husband and I about died laughing watching her trying to get into that turtle shell. It took some doing but she did it and wasn't going anywhere until her husband snapped a picture. Oh it was funny!

Zoey's First Lost Tooth

Zoey is so excited to announce that she has lost her very first tooth. We were just eating Sonic one night about a week and a half ago and it came right out. It was a very exciting moment for everyone. She put her tooth under her pillow that night and the awesome tooth fairy brought her one whole dollar bill. Lucky girl, I think it was just a quarter for me when I lost my teeth.
Stay tuned to see if loose tooth number 2 has come out!

Hot Schmoes

We recently had smores for dessert one night. Zoey had been asking for weeks to have them so I finally bought the stuff. We just put them together and pop them in the oven. The kids love them and the mess makes them that much more exciting. They were just as tasty as they would be if we were eating them by a campfire. Yum! We love smores!
Watching the marshmallows puff up.
An ooey, gooey delicious mess!
