2014 San Antonio Trip - II 1/2

After the day at the beach we went back to the hotel, we were staying at for the night, and got cleaned up. We headed to Whataburger for dinner, a family favorite and Corpus Christi is home to the first one. We grew up eating at the burger joint and we love it.

Donnie and the girls: Kella, Olivia, Zoey, and Elyssa.
Amy, Jenn, David, and Aiden.
Jay and his two pals: Noah and Joshua.
Grandma and Grandpa made it into a shot too.
When we got back to the hotel the girls thought it would be fun to run all over the place. They were playing in the elevators and all over the floors. Thankfully, I think, we didn't disturb anyone.
We went back to San Antonio the next day. We obviously ended up with the cool car.
I thought it was too cute that David and Aiden had a nap together.
It was a quick trip to Corpus Christi but we had such a great time. Thanks to my big bro for planning it and getting us a hotel room for free.

2014 San Antonio Trip - II

We went down to Corpus Christi, to Padre Island for a day. It was fun and I have never been in water that warm. I was sure at least one of my four kids wouldn't have liked it but they all loved the water. It was such a fun way to spend the day. I took a lot of pictures so get ready!
This was Olivia's first time at the beach being old enough to remember, and Aiden's first time at the beach ever.
Grandma took him for his first little walk along the beach.
I think he likes it! :)
Time for some boogie boarding. These kids couldn't get in the water fast enough.
I wish I had a better picture of Olivia boogie boarding. Jay was helping her and she had a good couple runs.
 Grandma and Grandpa.
 A picture at Joshua's request.
Olivia loves Machella. She would have followed her all the day long.
Elyssa and Zoey were inseparable at the beach. I think they spent more time in the water than anyone else.
How cute is this?! Kella is such a good cousin hanging out with the 4 year old who adores her.
Noah was a nut for boogie boarding. He worked so hard at it and he was the most bummed of anyone when we had to leave the beach. He said, "I wish I was a grown up so I could stay as long as I want. I would never leave." I told him he would have to leave eventually and he said, "I could camp here, I saw people doing that." The kids is just too smart for me.
Joshua built castles and Aiden took on the job of smacking them all down with his rake.
 The lady killer. :)
Proof I was there. I was just behind the camera, as always.
Jay and Alison.
Donnie and Amy.
 The turtle rescue!
An entire beach and look how close they are all sitting.
All the grandkids who were there. David, Machella, Elyssa, Zoey, Noah, Joshua, Aiden, Olivia.
 The McKinlay family.
 Aunt Jenn and the kiddos.

2014 San Antonio Trip - I

We had tried planning a family reunion for this summer but it just didn't work out. Us Tucson folk decided to make a trip out to San Antonio anyway, to see my brother and his family, and to return their oldest son to them. The drive was long but actually not too bad and the trip was well worth it. We got there late on a Saturday night then got up and went to church Sunday morning. Then we spent Monday just hanging out. It was nice to be there and nice to just chill with the family.

The greatest site to see after a whole day in the car, your destination.
Cousins are the best and all the kids just fall right back into a groove with each other when they are back together. Gotta love it!
I love the way Olivia jumps into the pool.
 These boys are crazy!
The fam just hangin in the pool.
When you can get him in the pool, Jay is always really fun with the kids.
Love all the kids jumping in the pool together.
Just the girls chatting it up in the nice, cool pool.
