Deming

A couple weekends ago a bunch of the family here in Tucson went to Deming for a baby blessing. It was the opportunity to spend time with extended family we hadn't seen in a while. It was also a chance to do one last thing with my brother and his family before they moved. It was a nice short weekend and it really was so enjoyable spending time with all the family.
We drove like an extra 40 minutes to Las Cruces to eat at this restaurant that is very similar to a place we frequented when we lived in El Paso. It was so yummy and so worth the drive.
These are the birds inside the restaurant. There is also a tank of piranhas but I didn't have a chance to snap a picture. Too funny that there is a big old bird cage in the middle of the front lobby of this Mexican food place.
All the family that was there minus myself and Olivia who were behind the camera.
The nasty lollipop my brother bought to gross out the kids and totally freak out Elyssa. The only place Olivia would be content and not freak out. The restaurant was so loud and I guess she wasn't having that so she thought hanging out outside was a better idea. Thank you Grandma for helping settle her so Mommy could finish her food and enjoy dessert.
A pretty sunset on the drive back from eating.
Miss Olivia was not a fan of being in the car for 3 hours. She did so so but was so happy to get to the hotel and just chill and stretch and wiggle on the bed. She also didn't do so well being out of her element for a weekend. It was kind of a long 2 days for Mommy and Olivia.
Happy to have some play time with Zoey's bear.
Can you spot the teeny baby in the big bed?
My dad and his only sibling, my Aunt Tommie. It was so great to see her.
Cousin David snuggling his favorite baby.
My cousins 2nd to youngest, Sarah. She is a stinker but such a cutie.
The little man who brought us to Deming. Nathan is the 5th and last child of my cousin Cathy. He was born just a few weeks after Olivia.
Zoey and Natalie (my cousins #3) have a great time playing together. So cute to watch them interact. Zoey is only like 2 weeks older than her. They get along really well.

Sleepy Time

You think little people like to fall asleep in Mom and Dad's bed?
How precious the way Noah is holding her hand. Made me smile!

Olivia's House

Zoey made this awesome house for Olivia. She was so proud and Olivia was pretty content in it for a while.
Love the eyes here. Too cute!

Olivia's Guide to Relaxation

1. Arms slightly stretched above head, legs pulled up tightly.
2. Arms nicely above the head, legs a bit more relaxed.
3. Arms comfortably up in the air, and though you can't see them the legs are completely relaxed.
4. Hold position for approximately 6 hours.
Just relaxing, watching some tv with her awesome aunt.

Our Cute Niece

This is a post for those who don't get to see pictures of adorable Sophie because her mother is lame and never blogs. I see her enough that I may just have to take it upon myself to keep everyone up to date on her. She is one of the cutest things you have ever seen. A few facts about Sophie:

- almost 11 months
- expert at crawling
- has 2 teeth on the bottom and i think might be working on getting the top 2 in
- getting into things she shouldn't and learning "no"
- has the most stunning bright blue eyes
- walking along furniture and can stand without holding on to anything
- says and waves bye
- has the cutest squishy face smile
- loves towels and blankies
- loves the pool
- likes to eat big people food but doesn't like help
- aunt ali is very obviously her favorite most awesome aunt :)

Whoops!

This is the look I caught on her face right before Jay realized she peed on him. Ha ha! It's like she is shocked that she just peed herself. It just cracks me up!

Keeping Cool

We bought the kids this little pool on sale at Frys. Now that we don't live where there is a community pool we thought it would be a fun thing for them. It didn't last long though. They played in it a couple times and the thing started falling apart and filling with dirt and bugs. It was a nice thought but didn't last. It's OK though because Aunt Jenn bought a fun hose attachment that the kids like to play in. Between that and the regular sprinkler head they have a grand time getting wet and cooling off. When we want a real swim we just pop on over to Grandma and Grandpa's house.
Tucson sure is bright and sunny in the summer.

My Boy and Baby Girl

Noah struggles a little more to hold Olivia but he likes to. She is getting more and more tolerant these days of her siblings holding her...
...every now and then she seems quite happy with them. Gotta love that grin she has as her brother holds her.
