Last Play Date With Marissa

The girls only had a little more time before Marissa moved away so we invited her to swim with us. We spent a couple hours at the pool and they had a great time together. I am sad it was the last chance they had to do anything together but I am glad they could have fun.

Happy Birthday to Jay

We celebrated Jay's 32nd birthday on Sunday. We had the fam over and had baked potato bar with all the yummy fixings, even some beef roast to throw on top. For dessert he didn't want cake so he came up with the idea for homemade ice cream sandwiches. So I made chocolate chip cookies and sandwiched them together with Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream. They were amazing! Yum yum! It was a casual enjoyable evening. Happy birthday Jay!

Swim Swim Swimming Time

We look forward every summer to it getting warm enough out to enjoy the pool. We have been swimming like 5 or 6 times since the kids got out of school. My goal is to take them at least once a week, I would really like to do twice. We have had a great time so far. This was Aiden's first time in the pool and he seemed to really like it. I believe he will be a little water baby this summer. Olivia loves the pool too and tells me almost every day that she wants to go swimming. After her first couple times in the pool this year she has pretty much figured out the floaties. The first day her little tush kept floating up but now she has the hang of keeping her legs down. We are going to have a great summer of swimming. Oh, and I promise I won't post a billion more swimming pictures this summer. I just couldn't choose favorites from these. I love them all.

 When Olivia is done swimming she is done. She had her suit off before I knew it. Silly girl.

So Big

My baby girl is not allowed to be big enough to eat a bowl of cereal all by herself. I love her independence but it also makes me sad. She is growing up so fast.

Too Cute

I don't think there can ever be too many pictures of a sweet sleeping baby.

Lucky Daddy

Aiden is not one to often lay his head on ones shoulder especially if he isn't dog tired. Daddy had a lucky moment here. So sweet.

 He would pop his head up every time I snapped a picture but then would put it back down again.

Transit of Venus 2012

We were so lucky Aunt Jenn got some free dark glasses from work so we could actually check out this rare sight. The kids (and myself really) found it so incredibly cool we could look right at the sun. Your whole life you are taught to not look right at it and with these glasses you get to break that rule, and it doesn't totally burn your eyes out. It was awesome.

 Since I was behind the camera I took a picture from my view. I am surprised it came out at all. You can see the tiny black dot on kind of the upper right of the sun.

Silly Faces

It is sometimes so hard to get a really great picture of this boy. He just always has such goofy looks on his face. It's so Aiden though and I love it.

 One of my favorite things. A nice, sweet smelling, clean baby.

Olivia fell asleep while they were watching a movie together. So sweet!

Learning

Aiden is finally starting to learn to hold his bottle. He doesn't do it great yet but he's on the road there. I suppose it is kind of hard to hold your own bottle though when you aren't even totally aware yet that your hands are your hands.

Occupying Children

The kids were bored, I was trying to make dinner, it was hot so this was my solution. The swimsuits typically live at Grandma's house since that is where we swim so I just let them have at it in their clothes. Hey, they had a blast, cooled off and I was able to get dinner finished in peace. Plus it gave me "cool mom" status for at least a little while. It worked out wonderfully for all.
